Frequently asked questions
What is the Uw value of the wood-aluminium windows?
According to NIPROM's 2024 catalogue, the 5000/S Quadra system reaches Uw from 1.0 W/m²K (triple glazing, Ug 0.6) to 1.9 W/m²K (double glazing, Ug 1.8), depending on the glass and on a softwood (Uf 1.4) or hardwood (Uf 1.6) frame.
What is the difference between wooden and wood-aluminium windows?
Both are wood on the inside. The wood-aluminium window (the 5000/S Quadra system) adds an outer cladding of EN AW-6060 T5 aluminium, powder-coated to Qualicoat or anodised, held by plastic clips 5 mm from the wood. That ventilated gap carries moisture away and gives the materials room to expand. According to the system's manual, watertightness is class 9a (EN 12208), air permeability class 4 (EN 12207) and wind load resistance class C4 (EN 12210).
